Last week, the IngreDiZymes team had the pleasure of attending the presentation of the second issue of Mirades de Ciència, the scientific outreach magazine published by the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV). The magazine also highlights the importance of scientific communication in Catalan, bringing research closer to society and making science more accessible to the local community.
This new edition brings together 12 research stories from different disciplines, showcasing how research carried out at the URV contributes to addressing current scientific and societal challenges and translating scientific knowledge into real-world impact.
We are especially proud that IngreDiZymes is one of the stories featured in this edition, through the article “Millorar el pas del laboratori al mercat” (“Improving the transition from the laboratory to the market”).
From years of research to IngreDiZymes
Based on a conversation with Begoña Muguerza, Miquel Mulero and Néstor Ibarz, the article tells the story behind IngreDiZymes and explores how the scientific expertise accumulated over years within the URV Nutrigenomics Research Group has evolved into a university spin-off focused on bringing research closer to industry and the market.
The article highlights the group’s extensive experience in developing and scientifically validating bioactive and functional ingredients, as well as its long-standing collaboration with companies from the food, nutraceutical and cosmetic sectors.
IngreDiZymes was created as a natural continuation of this trajectory, providing a framework to transform promising research results into innovative, scientifically supported ingredients with real commercial applications.
Bridging science and industry
At IngreDiZymes, we believe that knowledge transfer goes beyond generating scientific results. It means taking the knowledge, technologies and expertise developed in the laboratory and turning them into solutions capable of responding to real industry needs.
By strengthening the connection between academia and companies, IngreDiZymes aims to accelerate the journey from scientific discovery to validated functional ingredients, while promoting innovation and the practical application of research beyond the university environment.
