IDZ – IngreDiZymes participated in the IV Cosmetic Innovation Forum, organized by AINIA in Valencia, where our team had the opportunity to present the latest advances in biotechnology for the development of innovative cosmetic ingredients.
During the event, Prof. Miquel Mulero Abellán, Professor at Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) and co-founder of IDZ, delivered a scientific presentation exploring the growing potential of bioactive peptides as a new generation of functional active ingredients for cosmetic and health applications.
The presentation demonstrated how natural proteins can be transformed through enzymatic hydrolysis into highly specific bioactive peptides, capable of interacting with biological targets to promote skin health and enhance cosmetic performance. This biotechnology-driven approach offers a sustainable and scientifically validated pathway for developing innovative ingredients with targeted functionality.
Among the key advantages highlighted were:
- High specificity and well-defined mechanisms of action.
- Greater efficacy at lower concentrations.
- Scientific validation of biological functionality.
- Excellent biocompatibility and safety, making bioactive peptides highly suitable for cosmetic applications.
A central theme of the presentation was the transition from complex natural extracts to well-defined functional molecules, emphasizing the importance of developing evidence-based cosmetic ingredients supported by robust scientific research and functional validation.
This vision reflects IDZ’s commitment to combining biotechnology, enzymatic innovation and sustainability to create next-generation bioactive ingredients with real industrial value for the cosmetics, nutraceutical and health sectors.
We thank AINIA for organizing this inspiring event and all participants for the valuable discussions and networking opportunities that continue to strengthen innovation within the cosmetic biotechnology ecosystem.
